The home stretch before Halloween! My hot take is that we should all get the week off before Halloween to lock in our decorations. Let’s dive in.

ART EVERYWHERE

Pinellas County has more art per square mile than anywhere else in Florida, and this fall Creative Pinellas is leaning all the way into it.

Art Everywhere runs November 1 through December 6, with nearly 30 funded arts experiences in museums, galleries, parks, beaches, theaters and places you wouldn't expect. Creative Pinellas awarded $350,000 across the projects, chosen from nearly 140 applications, with funding from Visit St. Pete-Clearwater.

Sign up for the free Art Everywhere Passport, check in at venues to earn points, and you can unlock a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Clearwater artist Patricia Kluwe Derderian or a five-sticker pack by St. Pete artist Clancy Riehm.

A HUNDRED THOUSAND

The World Series is back in St. Pete for the first time since 2008, and the city expects more than 100,000 people between the games, the watch parties, and local restaurants. Mayor Ken Welch said plans are in place to handle the crowds.

We won’t talk about Game 3, but last night was quite the game! The Rays took Game 4 to extend the series on a walk-off in the 12th inning, which made for quite the late night for me!

Game 5 will be tonight at 8 PM at the Trop. It’s a long road back, but it’s a start!

BANANAS AT THE TROP

For a lighter-hearted take on baseball, the Savannah Bananas are playing St. Pete for the first time, May 7 and 8, 2027, at Tropicana Field against the Loco Beach Coconuts.

Tickets are only available through a lottery, and entries close at midnight on October 31. Enter at lottery.fansfirsttickets.com. Getting picked doesn’t obligate you to buy, so there’s no downside to throwing your name in. Game times and prices haven’t been announced.

This has been a long road. A 2025 St. Pete game got moved to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa after hurricane damage to the Trop.

P.S. Don’t talk to my wife about Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson’s performances on Dancing with the Stars unless you want to hear about #JusticeForGuillermo.

LUCKY FLIPPER

The Lucky Flipper is headed to 915 Central Ave. in the EDGE District, with an early December opening in the works. Owner Matthew Scott, a retired Army veteran who served at MacDill, got the idea after he and his wife started playing a Judge Dredd machine that belonged to her late father.

Expect 16 to 18 pinball machines, mostly modern, including Jaws, Jurassic Park, Godzilla and Stranger Things, plus a refurbished 1993 Judge Dredd and a few classic arcade cabinets. Daily admission is planned at $14 for unlimited play, and you can come and go all day.

There are six beers on draft and learn-to-play nights are planned. The vibe is bright and welcoming rather than a dark arcade. Follow @theluckyflipper for the opening date.

COCKTAIL CRAWL DATES

The first St. Pete Cocktail Crawl dates are set for November 15 - December 15!

There are already 11 bars and restaurants already signed on for the month-long crawl that gets you a buy-one-get-one-free cocktail at each stop. Plus, more bars to come! Explore at your own pace, bring a friend, and discover your new favorite spot.

Be sure to follow @cocktail_crawls on Instagram for the initial lineup teaser coming soon!

HANDING OR HEADING OUT?

Will you be spending your Halloween handing candy out? Or heading out to trick-or-treat? We tend to have an earlier crowd in our neighborhood, so sometimes we sneak out after the rush to go check out the sights and sounds of Old Northeast.

If you want to let folks know you’ll be handing out candy, you can mark your house down on the Nextdoor Treat Map. And if you’re on the hunt for a more local flavor and a list of Halloween haunts, check out Fright This Way (or add any fun displays you’ve seen)!

CIVIC NEWS

🗳️ Early voting is running through Sunday, Nov 1, from 7 AM - 7 PM at any of Pinellas's seven early voting sites. Mail ballots must be received by 7 PM on Election Day, Nov 3, and a postmark doesn't count. If you plan to wait for election day, find your polling place.

⚓ Council unanimously approved a new master plan for the four-acre Port of St. Pete, which puts $93 million to $163 million in possible improvements on the table over 10 to 20 years.

🤝 Mayor Welch and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson have a friendly bet on fundraising the most for charity, with the loser's mayor wearing the other team's jersey. St. Pete is collecting for the St. Pete Free Clinic at stpete.org/give, or you can drop items at 25 city facilities.
